…And another has come.

We are progressively moving towards the end of the year with each new beginning.

This is I believe the 46th week of the year out of 52, and it’s leading towards the end of the year; Donald Trump is now president, filling up his cabinet with appointee after appointee as people contemplate things; you might believe that we’re at the start of something HUGE, as Donald might call it, world-shaking, incredible.

But I think while that’s good, it’s good to look at something that I’ve wanted to get rid of for quite a while:

Perfectionism.

I am a victim of it, and I can’t deny that it follows me everywhere, making me question myself and whether what I’m putting out into the internet is either good or worth it – I second guess myself frequently, taking down blog posts that I think aren’t great or that aren’t well worded, thinking that perhaps I should rewrite or otherwise.

I think that this is a very negative behavior, because frankly I don’t really care too much about what people think and secondly, it doesn’t really matter what they think – at least in relation to how I think about myself.

So I would like to eliminate, therefore, the perfectionism that makes me rewrite things, redraft things, take wayyy too much time to release things.

This is the next thing to change, and it’s a good thing to shift it in this year of 2024 – even if it is the only lesson that I will have learned by the end of this year, I think that it will have been a worthwhile one.

Here’s to the next!

Making It

As I was practicing the cello this morning, I remember feeling a big sense of frustration that I wasn’t hitting the notes properly. In that moment, I caught myself in an interesting thought: “Shit, Timmy is going to scold me later.” I thought about how my fingers were clumsy and […]

Human in an AI Age.

As Claude Fable is released into the world, I think we have hit a critical point that has made me reflect and recognize that being a human in the AI age… Is just flat out weird. Look at the world around us now.  You open emails, and they’re written with […]

Splitting Focus

One of the things I really wish I could do is split my focus into two. To have my brain just divide up my attention while I’m focusing on other things simultaneously. Wouldn’t it be nice if I could just read that manga while at the same time understanding everything […]

A Small Thought On Equilibria

As you know, I recently lost quite a lot of weight, maintaining all of my muscle ever since the beginning of the year – people consider it a great success and I do as well, but the question arises: Why did I have to lose weight again in the first […]

On Learning From A Mentor

One thing that you learn from being on this planet for a while is that at times, you may actually end up better than a lot of other people at other things, but at the same time you have to be open to learning because others can teach you things […]

A Small Project

A small thing that not everyone might have noticed is this: I’ve lost about 8kg from November till now (we started at 79kg), or 5.7, if you’re looking at the first recorded picture in which I started tracking my journey. I like the idea of weight loss, and how it […]
