One thing I’ve always felt captivated by is the strange feeling of realizing that you’re able to do something only after you’ve done it, not before – it’s weird because you don’t know how you’re going to have done it, but somehow or another, by the time you’ve actually done it, you’re left with some weird and heady mixture of feelings that just make you think…

Whoa.

Did I seriously do that?

The feeling’s always the same – like a sort of explosion of color, a sense that something happened that I can’t quite grasp; the world has changed, but in a way that was wholly unpredictable.

It’s kind of weird to see myself change, and frankly there are times when I look at myself and it seems like I’m just an observer looking inward – but there’s a lot to be thankful for.

Who would’ve thought that this would be such an interesting ride, in the way that it chose to manifest as an interesting ride?

Not me, haha.

I’m still figuring things out, though.

One step at a time!

The Advantages Of Speed

I guess you can see that I’ve been having a bit of a blast thinking about how my mind works, how reality works, and so many other things as well – and it is also pretty interesting to reflect how a lot of people who were exposed to it across […]

Process and Reality

…Is the title of a book I have yet to read, but that I’d like to read when I finally get over the monumental beast that is Charles Taylor’s Sources of the Self, which in turn was a follow-up from Homi K Bhabha’s The Location of Culture, which I decided […]

My Birthday Gifts To Myself

I’m writing this on the morning of my xth birthday. Why the x? Not because I don’t want you to know how old I am (although sure, that’s part of it – guessing is part of the fun, right? 🙂 ) – but because partly, I don’t think it really […]

The Things We Don’t Want To Do

I’m writing this in the middle of a somewhat sluggish feeling after waking up rather late in the morning. I’m also doing it after practicing the cello and reviewing my DJ skills, reflecting on everything I did the previous day. Throughout this entire process, my body and mind are kind […]

Force of Habit

The reason I’m typing out this post now is because a system I created worked, and that is a fact worthy of celebration. It could have been otherwise, but it is not so. Why? Because today, at variance with other mornings, I sat down in the middle of boiling water […]

A Reflection on Contingency

I’m writing this as a small reminder to myself of the time contingency of things. If that sounds a little vague or muddled, it’s because I’m writing it slightly more in a rush compared to my other posts. Why? Partly it’s because of the topic that we’re discussing today: the […]
