The reason I’m typing out this post now is because a system I created worked, and that is a fact worthy of celebration. It could have been otherwise, but it is not so.

Why?

Because today, at variance with other mornings, I sat down in the middle of boiling water for coffee, opened my laptop, and there it was – an autogenerated tab right on the posting page, where I could just casually start writing without any friction.

Didn’t even have to think about it – it was just there sitting in front of me, the keyboard was working, the tab was there – every single item was in place.

This reminds of a tried and true reflection I have had over the years – that so as all happy families are alike yet unhappy families are unalike in their own ways (as famously inverted by Peter Thiel), the “happy family” producing this little piece of writing is the concord of multiple blockers being removed, so as to make the task easier, more simple, more natural.

Speaking of “natural”, I suppose there’s a natural limit to this kind of thing – that at some point, to achieve greater ambitions, a person would have to lock in and take part in more advanced orchestration.

Yet, as we know, life is a holistic game made of multiple interlocking games – win or lose is never about any individual game.

But that doesn’t stop me from celebrating this particular win.

Happy Saturday, everyone!

A Reflection on Contingency

I’m writing this as a small reminder to myself of the time contingency of things. If that sounds a little vague or muddled, it’s because I’m writing it slightly more in a rush compared to my other posts. Why? Partly it’s because of the topic that we’re discussing today: the […]

Thoughtless

Yet another one of my thoughts on consciousness – a lot of these recently because the topic is interesting, and paradoxically… Today’s post is on the subject of not thinking. Seems weird, right? Yes, I suppose so – but I think it’s one of the most profound insights that I’ve […]

Some Thoughts On Mind and Eileen Gu

A couple of months ago, Eileen Gu gave a brilliant interview in which she offered a couple of insights into her mind; here is a small sample of it. I’ll not go into the details as you can watch the interview yourself, but in short, it inspired me to think […]

Some Thoughts On Commodifying Myself

One of the fun little things that I’ve been engaging in recently is essentially a whole block of learning. Every single week, I take part in a set of two different music classes: one for cello and the other for DJing. Along the way, I spend almost all of my […]

Consciousness x Writing Experiment

NB: This was the result of a small experiment on writing and consciousness. It is the result of my pondering aimlessly on a page and then pretty much just letting instinct take me to the end of the page. If it sounds incoherent, that’s possibly unsurprising. If it does sound […]
